Remote Corporate & M&A Attorney (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Corporate/M&A Attorney to join a leading AI‑focused client on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and involves reviewing, annotating, and ensuring compliance of complex corporate and financial documents that will be used to train next‑generation AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and annotate corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and financial documents for regulatory and data‑privacy compliance.
• Identify personally identifiable information (PII) exposure risks and document best practices for anonymization and sensitive‑data handling.
• Provide guidance on structural identifiability to balance compliance with data utility for AI training.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop training materials that reflect current legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain detailed documentation of compliance measures and data‑handling procedures for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
• Minimum three years of experience in corporate law, M&A, or financial services with a focus on compliance and data privacy.
• Strong understanding of PII risks, anonymization techniques, and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting best practices and advising non‑legal stakeholders.
