Renewals & Retention Asset Director Northern Europe

About the role

As the Renewals & Retention Asset Director for Northern Europe, you will oversee a rolling three‑year portfolio of hotels across Premium, Midscale and Economy brands, ensuring assets remain within the group and delivering long‑term value. The role is based in either Munich or London and works closely with operations, development, finance and legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a three‑year view of contract expiries and exit risks, driving proactive retention strategies.
• Conduct deep‑dive asset performance analysis, risk assessments, CAPEX reviews and brand‑match evaluations.
• Define and monitor action plans with Operations and Development, aligning stakeholders on asset strategy.
• Lead negotiation phases, engage owners at key milestones, and evaluate renewal scenarios such as dry renewals, key‑money, fee ramp‑ups, rebranding or exit clauses.
• Prepare property improvement plans, term sheets and coordinate with legal and DTS teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in hotel development, asset management or corporate hospitality operations.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, owner economics and hospitality investment metrics.
• Proven ability to manage high‑level customer and owner relationships and to lead complex, sensitive conversations.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
