Road Logistics Specialist (Germany Customs)

About the role

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will support the Customs Department in Germany by handling invoicing for import and export customs services. Your work ensures smooth customs operations for both external clients and internal branches, contributing directly to accurate payments and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Bill import and export customs services for external clients and internal Kuehne+Nagel branches.
• Create invoices for various customs services after procedures are finalized.
• Resolve customer complaints related to missing invoices, incorrect amounts, or false addresses.
• Perform monthly financial closing activities.
• Extract and process statistical data for the EU INTRASTAT platform.
• Collaborate closely with supervisors and other customs teams across Germany.
• Ensure data accuracy and compliance to support clean financial results.
• Contribute to a well‑organized workflow to achieve strong month‑end outcomes.

Required profile

• B2 level proficiency in German for clear communication with colleagues and clients.
• Excellent written and spoken English for internal and external communication.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accuracy in data handling.
• Ability to independently manage priorities, follow up on open items, and escalate when needed.
• Comfort working with finance systems (ACON+ or similar) and willingness to learn new tools.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Collaborative mindset and readiness to cooperate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Reliability, accountability, and a mindset oriented toward process improvement.
