Senior Accountant

About the role

Atlantic Gate, an international logistics provider, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Hamburg office. You will support the German entity’s financial operations, work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, and act as a bridge between the local team, headquarters, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with group policies, German GAAP, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Record, maintain and reconcile all financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable.
• Prepare periodic financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) and management reports.
• Handle statutory filings such as VAT returns and support month‑end closing.
• Review shipment job costing, analyse variances and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Conduct internal audits, resolve discrepancies and liaise with banks, tax authorities and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or controlling.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP, statutory requirements and financial reporting.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset and proactive attitude.
• Professional working proficiency in English and German.
