Senior Developer (f/m/d) for BTP Metering and Reporting

About the role

As a Senior Developer on SAP’s BTP Metering & Reporting team, you will shape the technical direction of cloud‑native services that measure and report product usage for millions of customers. You will work in a highly autonomous Berlin‑based engineering group that drives the core of SAP’s consumption‑based business model.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement complex backend services and REST APIs using Java (Spring MVC/Boot) and Go.
• Define and enforce architectural patterns, make technology choices and contribute to the long‑term platform roadmap.
• Own features end‑to‑end, from requirement shaping through deployment and production operations.
• Mentor and review code for fellow engineers, fostering a culture of high technical standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across SAP and its partner ecosystem.

Required profile

• 6+ years of backend development experience with deep expertise in Java and Spring.
• Hands‑on experience with Go is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of leading technical decisions and delivering solutions to production.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and container orchestration (Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced SQL and data‑modelling skills, with experience optimizing large‑scale data pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills to make complex systems understandable.
