Senior Highway Engineer

About the role

Artheon is seeking a highly motivated Senior Highway Engineer to join our team in Berlin or East Brunswick, NJ. The role involves working on transportation infrastructure projects such as roadway design, intersection improvements, and safety enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead highway and roadway design teams, managing scope, schedule, budget, staffing and deliverables.
• Develop highway alignments, profiles, grading, cross‑sections and safety improvements in accordance with NJTA, NJDOT and AASHTO standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Evaluate existing roadways for safety improvements and develop traffic management plans for construction.
• Prepare technical reports and plans using CAD software, primarily MicroStation, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in highway design or transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey or ability to obtain within one year.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MicroStation InRoads or OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience using AutoDesk Civil3D.
• Familiarity with NJTA, NJDOT and AASHTO design standards.
