Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the EMEA & ANZ Legal Department of a leading German company. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will provide expert legal support across multiple jurisdictions and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on German and international contract, commercial, corporate, and construction law.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements in German and English, including supply, sales, distribution, OEM, GTC, and confidentiality agreements.
• Support internal teams such as Purchasing, Engineering, HSE, HR, and Finance at factories and sales offices in Germany, Austria, and beyond.
• Analyse and manage commercial and technical claims, as well as ongoing legal cases.
• Coordinate external counsel and collaborate on European strategic initiatives and M&A projects.
• Identify legal risks and develop operational responses.
• Organise and deliver training sessions on relevant legal topics.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of German law, including commercial, corporate, and construction aspects.
• Understanding of business processes and legal workflows.
• Excellent negotiation, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as an in‑house lawyer.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Comfortable working with international, multicultural teams.
