Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the European legal function of a leading multinational industrial group. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will act as a trusted advisor across multiple jurisdictions, supporting commercial, regulatory and operational matters in a fast‑moving, innovation‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, procurement, CAPEX, energy and long‑term industrial contracts.
• Provide legal advice on real‑estate matters related to industrial land, production facilities and infrastructure.
• Assess and mitigate regulatory, environmental, energy‑related and operational legal risks.
• Support cross‑border projects, partnerships, joint ventures and strategic transactions across Europe.
• Manage external counsel, ensuring quality of work and cost control.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration and administrative proceedings within your remit.
• Contribute to legal training, template development, playbooks and digitalisation initiatives.
• Promote strong governance, legal risk management and adherence to group policies.

Required profile

• 8‑10+ years of experience in commercial law, preferably with exposure to sales, procurement and industrial contracting.
• Background in an international law firm or a global industrial/technology‑driven organisation.
• Experience coordinating complex, multi‑jurisdictional projects or transactions.
• Full German legal qualification (two state exams), with at least one passed with distinction.
• Fluent in English with strong drafting skills in both English and German.
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset with the ability to analyse and solve complex issues.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, international environment.
