Senior Legal & Regulatory Compliance Officer

About the role

As a Senior Legal & Regulatory Compliance Officer you will guide financial institutions through complex German and EU regulatory landscapes. Positioned between operational compliance execution and senior legal advisory, you will ensure that clients interpret and implement regulatory requirements in a practical, audit‑proof manner.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret developments from BaFin, EBA, ESMA and other EU bodies.
• Conduct regulatory impact assessments for directives such as WpIG, WpHG, MaComp, MaRisk and DORA.
• Support the design and implementation of legally sound compliance frameworks.
• Advise clients during audit preparation and supervisory communications.
• Contribute to structured compliance concepts, documentation and client reporting.

Required profile

• Several years of professional experience in compliance, legal advisory or regulatory risk.
• Strong knowledge of German and EU regulatory frameworks.
• Academic background in law, finance, economics or a related field.
• Structured, analytical working style with confident client communication.
• Interest in RegTech and practical regulatory implementation.
