Senior Project Manager – Utility Scale Solar PV & BESS

About the role

You will own utility‑scale renewable energy projects from execution through to hand‑over, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards. The position is based in Dortmund or Hamburg with regular travel to sites across Lower Saxony, Saarland and Schleswig‑Holstein.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and commissioning of large‑scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, grid operators and internal teams to secure permits, grid connections and successful hand‑over.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and risk registers, reporting progress to senior management.
• Conduct site visits and oversee on‑site activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, procurement, construction and operations stakeholders.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of experience managing utility‑scale PV and/or BESS projects.
• Proven track record delivering large infrastructure or energy projects.
• German language proficiency at C1 level (essential).
• Based in Dortmund or Hamburg and willing to travel regularly across Germany.
• Engineering background preferred (electrical or civil engineering advantageous).
