Service Technician – Spidercam Systems

About the role

Ross Video is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and support Spidercam systems across Germany and international locations. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and on‑site troubleshooting of both rental and fixed installations, ensuring reliable performance for live productions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform annual maintenance, safety tests, and cable replacements on Spidercam equipment.
• Execute hardware and software upgrades, fault repairs, and support hotline cases.
• Manage inventory, order parts, and maintain warehouse documentation.
• Communicate with customers, partners, and internal teams to coordinate service activities.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections, including drilling, cutting, filing, soldering, wiring, and crimping.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Required profile

• Technical education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or electronics.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant field service or maintenance experience.
• Strong German and English language skills.
• Ability to work independently, safely, and accurately, with occasional travel (10‑25%).

Required skills

• PLC programming knowledge.
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCat 2 and 3.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Network knowledge and basic Office package competence.
• Understanding of optical and electrical signal processing.
• Basic CAD usage.
• Soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical drilling, cutting, filing.
• Reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
