Site Operations Manager – R&D Facility Transformation

About the role

The Site Operations Manager will partner with R&D leadership and RDES operations to drive transformation initiatives at GSK’s research site in Heidelberg, Germany. The role focuses on improving operational effectiveness, governance and culture across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for services, facilities operations, infrastructure and project delivery across the site.
• Develop and execute a measurable site transformation plan in collaboration with R&D and RDES leadership.
• Chair a site‑level operations team that includes key stakeholders, business partners and service providers.
• Build relationships with local and regional service partners, define scope of services and implement strengthened site governance.
• Set and deliver annual objectives and budgets and create a 5‑year Facilities Master Plan.
• Ensure compliance with GSK policies, standards, procedures and external regulatory requirements (Quality, Statutory, EHS) and maintain audit readiness.
• Act as duty holder for external licences and statutory obligations within the area of responsibility.
• Serve as the primary GSK contact for local community, government and other agencies.
• Mediates and decides on disputes related to service delivery at the site level.
• Identify continuous‑improvement and innovation opportunities to enhance customer service and achieve cost savings without affecting workplace experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent, specialised in an engineering or scientific discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience as indicated in the posting.
