Site Reliability Engineer
adidas
Job description
About the role
Adidas is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to improve the stability, reliability, performance and operational readiness of business-critical digital solutions. This is not a traditional application support or service management position: it combines software development, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, integration and observability to fix recurring issues, automate operations and prevent incidents. The role works with complex, high-load front-end and back-end systems in a global environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and improve software that increases system stability, reliability and performance, and refactor existing code, scripts and automation.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, integrations, infrastructure and cloud environments, and contribute to technical design.
- Support AWS cloud solutions, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar), and containerized applications with Kubernetes.
- Build monitoring, alerting, logging and observability solutions; create dashboards and alerts, and use tools such as Grafana, Elastic Stack, Kibana, Dynatrace or Datadog.
- Investigate issues across integrations, APIs, gateways and distributed systems, and work with API, platform and integration teams.
- Own complex incidents, perform root-cause analysis, document findings and join a 24/7 on-call rotation (two days per week in LAM/NAM timezones).
- Apply security-by-design, support vulnerability remediation and ensure quality and operational standards.
Required profile
- Professional experience in SRE, software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering or a closely related field; direct SRE experience highly preferred.
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong spoken and written English and ability to work with multicultural, globally distributed teams.
- Accountability, proactive problem solving, independence, strong communication and curiosity about business systems.
Required skills
- AWS cloud environments and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure configuration and secrets management.
- Monitoring, logging, alerting and observability; application performance management tools such as Dynatrace or Datadog.
- APIs, gateways, middleware and integration layers; TIBCO, Kong or similar integration platforms are a plus.
