Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Architect – Germany

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Architect to define and drive our reliability and scalability strategy across production systems. This senior position will shape the blueprint for resilient, high‑performance services in a fast‑growing, 300,000‑employee organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect robust, scalable, fault‑tolerant infrastructure on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Establish and govern Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and error budgets.
• Develop a comprehensive observability strategy covering logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.
• Lead automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform, Ansible and related tools.
• Implement resilience patterns, disaster‑recovery plans and chaos‑engineering experiments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor SREs and developers, and conduct architectural review sessions.
• Analyze major incidents to identify architectural weaknesses and drive design improvements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps or systems engineering.
• At least 5 years in a senior SRE or systems architect role.
• Proven ability to design large‑scale, highly available cloud solutions.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
