Staff Electrical Engineer – Automation Systems

About the role

As a Staff Electrical Engineer at Orbem, you will lead the development of electrical architecture for complex automation systems, establishing best practices and guiding a growing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and enhance electrical systems, creating detailed wiring diagrams and distribution layouts for automation subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with EU and US electrical standards (IEC 60204‑1, etc.).
• Define and own the electrical engineering framework from concept through validation and long‑term strategy.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as the subject‑matter expert for all electrical challenges.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in electrical engineering within the food automation industry.
• Proven ability to develop wiring diagrams, distribution boxes, motor‑control circuits and PLC systems.
• Strong knowledge of low‑ and high‑voltage system design and relevant regulations.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with a "get‑it‑done" attitude.

Required skills

• EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical.
• PLC programming and motor‑control circuit design.
• Low‑voltage and high‑voltage system design.
• IEC 60204‑1 compliance.
• Radio‑frequency (RF) system experience (optional but advantageous).
