START IN Coatings Engineering Trainee Program (m/f/d)

About the role

The START IN Coatings Engineering Trainee program prepares recent graduates for a future engineering career at BASF Chemetall & Coatings. Over 18 to 24 months you will rotate through three to four stations at the Langelsheim site, gaining hands‑on experience in production processes, plant optimisation and investment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in plant optimisation and process reliability projects.
• Support planning and assembly phases of investment projects.
• Develop and optimise production processes, focusing on digitalisation and process improvement.
• Lead independent projects applying specialist knowledge.
• Complete a 3‑ to 6‑month assignment abroad or in another business unit.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering with chemistry links or a comparable field.
• Practical engineering experience through internships or student projects.
• Initial experience in project management.
• International experience such as an internship, semester abroad or exchange.
• Fluent communication skills in German and English.
