System Design Lead – Traffic Surveillance & Situational Awareness

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a System Design Responsible to lead the engineering and integration of traffic surveillance (ACAS/ADS‑B) and environmental perception systems for civil and military e‑VTOLs. You will work within the Situational Awareness and Mission Management department, contributing to helicopter‑level solutions that enhance terrain, weather, threat and traffic awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Define system design, requirement engineering, specification and architecture for situational awareness solutions.
• Develop integration, verification and validation strategies and support rig, ground and flight testing.
• Ensure system qualification, certification and compliance at helicopter level.
• Manage project execution in line with overall helicopter program planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers, project and program management stakeholders.
• Apply modern agile development methods where appropriate.

Required profile

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in system design, development, engineering or integration of complex aerospace systems.
• Proven ability to lead system‑level integration and verification activities.
