Tax Analyst – VAT Compliance (German-speaking)

About the role

We are looking for a German‑speaking Tax Analyst to join our VAT Compliance team in Frankfurt. You will support an international portfolio of e‑commerce clients, ensuring their EU VAT obligations are met accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support clients on EU VAT obligations and strategic planning.
• Prepare and submit EU VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat reports within deadlines.
• Liaise with European tax authorities, manage audits and resolve queries on behalf of clients.
• Guide clients on VAT treatment for e‑commerce and B2B transactions.
• Monitor legislative changes in VAT law and implement necessary process updates.
• Collaborate with Credit Control to oversee client account status and payments.
• Contribute to process improvements and mentor new team members.
• Represent AVASK in webinars and industry events.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of professional experience in tax, finance, accounting or law with a focus on VAT.
• Native‑level German and very good written and spoken English.
• Strong communication and client advisory skills.
• Structured, reliable work style under time pressure.
• High ownership, organisational talent and team orientation.

Required skills

• EU VAT filing knowledge (OSS, VAT‑ID, Intrastat).
