Technical Program Manager – AI/ML

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with an AI/ML background to drive technical cohesion between research and physical implementation of next‑generation materials. Based in Berlin, you will lead programs that accelerate frontier AI/ML research and translate scientific objectives into scalable material breakthroughs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal technical programs across AI/ML model development, frontier research, data workflows, and machine‑learning infrastructure, acting as the connective tissue between AI researchers and materials scientists.
• Translate scientific and business objectives into executable plans, aligning commercial, research and engineering teams.
• Own planning and delivery of projects, calculating compute needs, managing resources and dependencies, mapping timelines and mitigating risks.
• Partner with industry collaborators and research institutions, serving as the primary program contact and driving proposal writing and joint development initiatives.
• Implement metrics for tracking technical milestones, coordinate compliance and regulatory considerations, and support IP and scientific publication processes.

Required profile

• Strong background in AI/ML or a related natural‑science discipline.
• Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager in the AI/ML domain, with deep understanding of model architecture, cloud‑computing best practices and the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent leadership and facilitation skills for cross‑functional teams spanning AI, chemistry and engineering.
• Ability to navigate high ambiguity, influence senior technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and drive strategic problem‑solving.
