Technical Purchaser / Project Buyer

About the role

Join Excelitas Technologies in Göttingen as a Technical Purchaser/Project Buyer, supporting the development and production of photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market. You will act as the bridge between suppliers and internal/external customers in complex product development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in product development projects, interfacing with suppliers and customers.
• Clarify and document technical requirements for purchased parts and manage their qualification.
• Handle technical inquiries, coordinate order management and ensure on‑time delivery while meeting quality, cost and performance targets.
• Evaluate suppliers, manage risks and take part in supplier audits.
• Contribute to supplier development initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed studies in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics or related fields.
• Experience in project work and ability to handle complex interdisciplinary topics.
• Business‑oriented mindset with cost‑conscious thinking.
• Fluent in German and English (C1 level) with strong communication skills.
• Quick comprehension and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
