VDI Engineer (Secret Clearance) – Ramstein, Germany

About the role

GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Principal to design, implement, and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions for customers in Ramstein, Germany. The role requires a Secret clearance and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge VMware technologies while advancing your career in enterprise IT.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VDI environments using VMware vCenter and related tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high‑performance virtual platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for VDI operations.
• Maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with DoD security standards.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one).
• 1‑5 years of intensive, progressive VDI experience plus TESA education requirements (B.S. +3 yr, A.A. +7 yr, or 11 yr experience without a degree).
• DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification and journeyman/administrator‑level VDI certification.
