Working Student – Hardware Engineering (UAS Propulsion & Power)

About the role

Join STARK as a Working Student in Hardware Engineering, focusing on the propulsion and power systems of unmanned aerial platforms. You will gain hands‑on experience testing motors, batteries and related components while supporting data‑driven design decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support bench characterisation and testing of motors, propellers, batteries and power components for UAS platforms.
• Set up test rigs, instrumentation and ensure clean, repeatable measurement data.
• Assist in component selection by translating test results into clear performance comparisons.
• Analyse efficiency, thrust, endurance and thermal behaviour using MATLAB and Python.
• Visualise results for rapid engineering decision‑making.
• Document test setups, measurements and findings to maintain traceability.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or a related engineering field.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB and Python for data analysis.
• Interest or exposure to UAS, electric propulsion, or battery/power systems.
• Citizenship of a NATO member state (export‑control requirement).
• Hands‑on mindset comfortable with bench work and measurement tools.
• Good written and verbal English; German is a plus.
