Applied AI Architect, Large Enterprise

About the role

The AI Architect team partners with organizations to turn OpenAI's most capable models into real‑world impact. As an Applied AI Architect you will act as the CTO for a portfolio of large‑enterprise customers, shaping AI strategy, guiding solution design, and driving adoption from pre‑sales through production.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical advisor and long‑term relationship owner for a named portfolio of existing customers and prospects.
• Partner with Account Directors to define technical account plans, milestones, and adoption roadmaps across ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI API, Codex and other solutions.
• Lead discovery workshops with executives and engineering teams to identify high‑value use cases and translate them into clear AI architectures.
• Design end‑to‑end Applied AI solutions covering models, data integration, security, privacy, governance and deployment.
• Coordinate deployment engineering, implementation, training and specialist resources to ensure successful production rollout and measurable business impact.

Required profile

• Significant experience in customer‑facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, technical account leadership or AI deployment.
• Proven track record guiding enterprise organisations from technical evaluation through production adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Ability to communicate with senior technical and business leaders while also engaging hands‑on engineers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Python and JavaScript for prototyping and API integration.
• Deep understanding of APIs, SDKs, cloud architecture, distributed systems and data integration.
• Experience with identity management, security and privacy controls in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of modern AI systems, large language models (LLMs), agentic applications, model evaluation and retrieval techniques.
