Backend Engineer - Wallets

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in wallet infrastructure to help shape the future of decentralized finance. You will build secure, high‑performance backend services that power global digital‑asset solutions and support real‑time transactions for users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services for wallet infrastructure and digital‑asset operations.
• Build and optimise high‑throughput microservices capable of handling large‑scale, real‑time transactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions aligned with product and business goals.
• Implement and enforce platform security best practices to protect user assets and system integrity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues while identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging blockchain, peer‑to‑peer and backend technologies.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience building and maintaining high‑availability backend platforms.
• Familiarity with peer‑to‑peer and decentralized system concepts.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Strong grasp of backend security principles and secure coding practices.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing technical environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in remote, international teams.
