Computational Physicist – Remote Contract (up to $120/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Computational Physicist to join our AI research lab on a remote contract basis. You will work directly with cutting‑edge large language models to craft detailed, step‑by‑step solutions for challenging physics problems.

Key responsibilities

• Generate "golden trajectories"—complete, reproducible solutions for hard physics problems.
• Collaborate with a frontier LLM in an iterative studio environment to draft and refine reasoning.
• Produce clean, publication‑grade derivations suitable for use as training data.
• Evaluate problem sets screened by the LLM, ensuring at least one failure case is identified.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet weekly deadlines (≈15 hours).

Required profile

• PhD in physics or within the final 1–2 years of a PhD program.
• Fluent daily use of LaTeX and Python for scientific computation.
• Comfortable with iterative workflows that involve large language models.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of producing publication‑quality derivations.
