Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician based in Kassel, you will be responsible for the reliable operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and central inverter technology. The role is hands‑on and field‑oriented, requiring you to troubleshoot, maintain and optimise critical energy infrastructure while supporting continuous improvement of service processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on battery inverters and related system components.
• Support commissioning activities and occasionally assist control‑room operations.
• Coordinate external service providers, ensure quality of work and resolve on‑site issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults in the field; escalate complex problems through structured processes.
• Enforce strict health‑and‑safety standards and promote a zero‑incident culture.
• Document technical findings, incidents and maintenance actions; provide structured reports to service coordination and asset‑management teams.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Photovoltaics (PV), medium‑voltage systems and industrial IT/network environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Self‑organised, customer‑focused and solution‑oriented mindset.
