Financial Accountant / CMA

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant / CMA to own and modernise our accounting backbone in Germany. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, systems and automation, aiming to replace manual processes with AI‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day preparatory bookkeeping and ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.
• Manage full‑cycle general ledger reconciliations, including accruals, fixed assets, and AR/AP positions.
• Support and continuously improve monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes under HGB.
• Prepare internal financial reports and maintain consistency across all finance outputs.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the external accounting firm, ensuring timely and high‑quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership on accounting, tax and finance topics.
• Identify inefficiencies in current processes and redesign workflows for greater efficiency.
• Drive automation across accounting processes—from data capture to reconciliation and reporting.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance finance operations.

Required profile

• Qualified CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or equivalent certification.
• Strong experience in German GAAP (HGB) accounting.
• Proven ability to work closely with leadership, external accountants and cross‑functional teams.
• Mindset focused on eliminating manual work and building scalable finance solutions.
