Hotel Financial Controller – Germany & Austria

About the role

We are seeking a Hotel Financial Controller to take full financial responsibility for a cluster of hotels across Germany and Austria. The role works independently, collaborating closely with General Managers, operational teams and the regional headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process with an outsourced provider, including P&L reviews and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with German regulations (HGB, VAT) and internal financial policies.
• Oversee revenue audits, cost control and system reconciliations for PMS, POS and payment systems.
• Monitor cash flow and supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations handled externally.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and CAPEX planning together with hotel leadership.
• Lead internal and external audits and implement improvement actions.
• Standardise processes and drive efficiency across multiple properties.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (Bilanzbuchhalter, ACCA or equivalent preferred).
• 5–8 years of finance experience, preferably in the German hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), VAT (USt) and hotel operations.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Hands‑on, organised and able to manage several locations independently.

Required skills

• Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS).
• Experience with Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion.
