Logistics Technician (Data Center Inventory & Asset)

About the role

As a Logistics Technician in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you will manage inventory and asset processes for data centre operations. The role involves performing cycle audits, handling incoming and outgoing deliveries, coordinating security escorts, and documenting all movements of hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Execute cycle audits and maintain accurate physical inventory tracking.
• Process inbound and outbound deliveries, including staging and documentation.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Initiate warranty claims and manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes, including packaging, shipping, and receipt of failed hardware.
• Perform destruction of data‑bearing devices in line with Microsoft policies and service level agreements.
• Update and steward information in inventory management systems, CMDBs, and asset repositories.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies and stock shortages to management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in warehouse, supply‑chain, or IT‑related inventory management.
• Ability to work on‑site with limited public transport options.
• Clear background check eligibility.
