About the role
We are seeking an M&A Associate to join the German team of a fast‑growing European buy‑and‑build platform focused on IT managed services and cloud businesses. Based in Düsseldorf, you will work in a private‑equity‑style environment, supporting a high volume of transactions across the DACH region and Europe.
Key responsibilities
- Support the full M&A lifecycle from origination to closing, including target assessment and deal execution.
- Analyse financial performance, commercial positioning and value‑creation opportunities of acquisition targets.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses and investment cases.
- Prepare transaction materials such as investment memoranda, presentations and due‑diligence documentation.
- Coordinate due‑diligence processes with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Engage directly with founders, management teams and senior leadership to evaluate strategic fit.
- Develop and nurture relationships with advisors, intermediaries and industry experts to source deals.
- Contribute to pipeline development, negotiation support and team knowledge sharing.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field with strong academic performance.
- Experience in M&A, investment banking, Big‑4 transaction services, private equity or corporate finance, preferably with end‑to‑end deal exposure.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, commercial judgement and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Financial modelling and valuation expertise, including building models from scratch.
- Solid accounting knowledge, particularly analysis of financial statements under German GAAP.
