Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical works on data‑centre projects in Munich. The role combines planning, on‑site supervision and coordination of mechanical installations such as HVAC, chillers, pumps, fire‑fighting and plumbing systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and mechanical codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assign work schedules for the mechanical team and subcontractors.
• Plan, schedule and supervise daily mechanical activities on site.
• Oversee installation of chillers, AHU, pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Maintain safety standards and ensure adherence to mechanical permits and codes.
• Control scope changes, engineering changes and technical queries.
• Review work procedures and method statements, proposing improvements.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and other contractors to avoid clashes.
• Hire, train and evaluate new mechanical staff.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in data‑centre environments.
• Strong organisational, planning and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
