Service Technician – Main Components (Magdeburg region)

About the role

As a Service Technician for main components, you will join Vestas’ field service teams across Germany, supporting the maintenance and repair of large wind turbine parts. The role combines hands‑on technical work with digital documentation, ensuring reliable operation of wind energy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to wind turbine sites throughout Germany and work in permanent service teams of about seven technicians.
• Replace and repair main and large components of wind turbines, following safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate with external service providers, such as crane operators and transport companies, to facilitate complex lifts.
• Document all service activities digitally, creating clear technical reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel during the week and return home on weekends.
• Completed vocational training in electrical engineering or building services engineering.
• Ability to prepare and document technical reports independently.
• Comfort working at heights and operating safely above ground level.
• Valid driving licence (category B).
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems.
• Experience using iOS operating systems and related apps.
• Familiarity with SAP for service documentation.
• DIN VDE 0105-100 electrician qualification (or willingness to obtain it through Vestas Academy).
