Venture studio investor & builder

About the role

Merantix Capital is seeking an experienced AI investor to join its venture studio team. You will work closely with founders at the earliest stages, helping to shape ideas into investable AI companies and driving the studio’s portfolio growth across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate high‑potential AI founders and venture opportunities, aiming to launch 4‑5 new AI companies per year.
• Develop original investment theses and company‑building themes based on market research, portfolio insights, and emerging technology trends.
• Partner with venture studio founders as a strategic sparring partner to validate ideas, refine market selection, conduct customer discovery, and shape product and go‑to‑market strategies.
• Transform promising concepts into fundable ventures by challenging problem definitions, wedge selection, commercial validation, and roadmap planning.
• Leverage the Merantix ecosystem for co‑founder matching, AI engineering talent, early customer introductions, and connections to investors and industry partners.
• Promote Merantix Capital as Europe’s leading AI venture studio among founders, engineers, VCs, LPs, and corporate partners.

Required profile

• Multiple years of experience building AI/ML products as a technical founder, early engineer, or senior ML/Product lead in an AI‑first startup.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, including model training and production deployment.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Proven 0‑to‑1 product experience, taking concepts from idea to market.
