Android Middleware Engineer – Automotive

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Android Middleware Engineer to lead the development of automotive‑grade Android solutions. The role combines deep system‑level expertise with close collaboration across hardware, kernel and UI teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement Android middleware for automotive platforms.
• Analyse and modify Android Open Source Project (AOSP) framework components to satisfy vehicle requirements.
• Create and maintain HAL interfaces for infotainment, sensors, camera, audio and connectivity subsystems.
• Work with BSP, kernel and hardware groups to integrate drivers into the Android stack.
• Optimise boot time, memory usage and power consumption.
• Ensure compliance with automotive safety, reliability and real‑time standards.
• Debug complex system‑level issues across Framework, HAL and Kernel layers.
• Contribute to Android Automotive OS (AAOS) customisation and feature enhancements.
• Lead code reviews, design discussions and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional experience in Android system development.
• Strong background in embedded Linux, device drivers and automotive software integration.
