Manufacturing & Industrialization Engineer – Supplier Operations

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Manufacturing & Industrialization Engineer – Supplier Operations to drive the industrialisation of new work packages and major modifications within its German supplier base. The role serves as the primary technical interface between Airbus internal functions and external suppliers, ensuring processes meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the industrial focal point between Airbus procurement, design, quality and manufacturing engineering and external suppliers for all manufacturing topics.
• Lead the industrialisation of new work packages and major modifications, guaranteeing compliance with OTOCOQ targets.
• Provide technical assessments for additive manufacturing, metallic, composite and assembly technologies and capture knowledge across Airbus D&S.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, process validations, capacity and manufacturing flow robustness to support RFP evaluations and Make/Buy decisions.
• Coordinate Material Review Board activities, drive non‑conformance reduction and support suppliers in achieving RP3 certification.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects (Lean Manufacturing) across the supply chain and manage high‑impact industrial offset projects, including travel to key supplier sites.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in manufacturing, assembly or special processes (metallic, composite or additive manufacturing) within a supplier quality, industrialisation or manufacturing engineering role.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally to supplier locations.
