Accountant / Cost Controller – Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant / Cost Controller to join Tesla’s European Finance Team at the Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg. You will help shape cost‑controlling strategies, ensure accurate financial reporting and support sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost‑controlling strategies from the ground up, embracing a “blank sheet” approach.
• Create visualisation reports and analyses to improve data efficiency and presentation.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities, aligning operational and financial actions to mitigate them.
• Execute real‑time monthly closing with high‑quality accruals, cost‑centre and cost‑unit accounting.
• Perform variance analysis and prepare management reports.
• Apply accounting standards and internal group requirements across multiple entities.
• Support the wider Finance team by taking ownership of specific areas.

Required profile

• Professional experience in cost controlling or auditing.
• Academic degree in Finance, Business Administration or a comparable qualification.
• Strong ability to prioritize and work under pressure with a hands‑on mindset.
• Passion for solving advanced Excel modelling challenges and experience with P&L and project management.
• Solid business acumen and understanding of end‑to‑end finance processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• Commitment to sustainability principles in line with Tesla’s EHS&S policy.
