Accountant – Finance & Accounting Team

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Accountant to join a well‑established German company’s finance and accounting team. The role is based on‑site at one of several locations across Germany, with the possibility of hybrid work depending on company needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper bookkeeping in line with German accounting standards (HGB).
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general‑ledger balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP and tax regulations, including VAT returns.
• Assist with internal and external audits and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
• Monitor financial transactions and identify discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, Financial Accountant or Bookkeeper.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations.
• Fluent German language skills; English is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as Bilanzbuchhalter are an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with DATEV accounting software.
• Experience with SAP (or similar ERP) accounting modules.
