Accountant (Hybrid – Hamburg)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Hamburg. The role combines daily accounting tasks with compliance responsibilities under German GAAP (HGB) and VAT regulations, while offering a hybrid work model that supports collaboration and flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Ensure compliance with VAT and local tax requirements.
• Assist with statutory reporting and act as a primary contact for internal and external audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience covering GL, AP, AR, tax and audit.
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT regulations.
• Fluent in German and English.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, NetSuite or SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proficiency with standard accounting tools and MS Office.
