AI Lead – Venture Capital Studio

About the role

We are looking for a Head of AI to sit at the centre of our venture studio, working directly with Operating Partners to assess, incubate and scale the next generation of AI‑first startups. You will be the AI authority across the portfolio, shaping technical strategy from the earliest stages of company building.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical due‑diligence on AI concepts, architectures, data strategies and model viability.
• Embed with early‑stage companies to define and build AI product and data infrastructure, guide model selection, MLOps and responsible AI practices.
• Contribute to the studio’s AI investment thesis, build a network of technical experts and represent the studio at conferences and with academic and industry partners.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in AI/ML, building AI products from 0 to 1.
• Startup or venture‑capital environment experience with a deep understanding of early‑stage dynamics.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and technical levels, presenting to boards while writing production code.
• Strong commercial instinct combined with deep technical depth.
• Builder mentality – comfortable with ambiguity, collaborative and humble.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI systems architecture.
• MLOps and data‑infrastructure design.
