Application Software Engineer (Senior) – Robotics

About the role

RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and is looking for an ambitious (Senior) Application Software Engineer to help establish RobCo as a leading provider of automation solutions. You will work on integrating complex peripheral devices and developing software that powers our robot cells.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate complex peripheral devices and interfaces such as cameras, measurement systems, controllers, and ERP systems into robot cells.
• Establish standards for universal integration of industrial peripherals to simplify processes and handle recurring requests.
• Lead projects from concept through proof‑of‑concept to stable customer solutions and support field teams with troubleshooting.
• Document solutions, create how‑tos for technicians and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
• Introduce new technologies, evaluate external components and pursue unconventional paths to meet internal and customer needs.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Excellent knowledge of Python and experience with hardware‑level programming in C or C++.
• Experience integrating and controlling industrial equipment, preferably in automation or robotics.
• Creative problem‑solver with a hands‑on mentality and ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel for on‑site customer visits and deploy software in real‑world environments.
