Chief Medical Officer

About the role

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will lead all clinical and medical activities at Dushanbe International Hospital, a new 163‑bed multidisciplinary facility in Tajikistan. Reporting to senior management, the CMO ensures the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and medical operations across all departments.
• Supervise, motivate, and develop doctors and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Ensure patient care quality and adherence to national and international medical standards.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve clinical policies, protocols, and medical strategies.
• Lead medical staff training, mentoring, and performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with department heads to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support accreditation, licensing, and regulatory compliance processes.
• Participate in strategic planning and hospital development projects.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital settings.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in government or private hospitals.
• Proven track record in managing, motivating, and developing doctors and clinical staff.
• Strong background in medical training and clinical supervision.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making abilities.
• Deep understanding of hospital operations, quality standards, and patient safety.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, or related field; experience with hospital accreditation and quality systems.
