Director of People & Culture

About the role

Orbem is seeking a Director of People & Culture to intentionally scale its unique, fast‑growing global team. You will partner directly with the leadership team, lead a 10‑person People & Culture function, and shape the people strategy that preserves the company’s identity while supporting rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a global People strategy aligned with business objectives, balancing local needs with global consistency.
• Partner with leadership on headcount planning, team structures, and future skill requirements.
• Ensure compliance with German labor law, works council matters, and international employment regulations.
• Build scalable, compliant people processes across all regions.
• Develop and implement talent attraction, development, and retention strategies.
• Translate company values into daily behaviours, rituals, and decision‑making frameworks.
• Support teams through periods of change, ambiguity, and growth.
• Lead, coach, and develop the People & Culture team, fostering a safe environment for challenge and contribution.
• Coach senior leaders on difficult people decisions and uphold cultural standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR or People & Culture functions in fast‑growing, international organizations.
• Strong understanding of German labor law and experience working with works councils.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement global people strategies.
• Excellent partnership skills with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of scaling culture intentionally during rapid growth phases.
