Financial Model Audit Consultant

About the role

Gridlines is looking for an experienced Model Audit Consultant to join its fast‑growing financial modelling practice. You will work with a team of modelling professionals to analyse, review and improve complex financial models, ensuring they are robust, accurate and aligned with client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead model audit assignments, verifying arithmetic and commercial correctness.
• Use software checks and parallel model development to detect modelling errors.
• Review commercial documentation and ensure accurate translation into the financial model.
• Prepare comprehensive model documentation covering assumptions, methodology and results.
• Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and contribute to methodology enhancements.
• Assist in project planning, timeline management and resource allocation.
• Train, motivate and manage junior team members on assignments.
• Communicate model findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support client pitches, calls and relationship building.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of relevant experience in a financial role within a recognised advisory practice or large corporate.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts; accounting qualification is a plus.
• Good grasp of project finance concepts and analytical skills.
• Degree in a numerate discipline; postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling.
• Familiarity with the FAST financial modelling standard (desirable).
