Food Quality Assessment Expert – Global QA Lead

About the role

The Food Quality Assessment Expert will lead global food safety and quality assessments across METRO entities, including countries, International Trading Offices and FSD companies. You will ensure compliance with METRO’s Global Quality Standards and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and conduct Global Food QA assessments remotely and on‑site, including stores, depots, production sites and FSD companies.
• Evaluate assessment results, align findings with assessed entities and deliver professional reports and closing meetings.
• Prepare, review and communicate assessment reports and key findings to senior management, including the SVP Quality Assurance.
• Monitor, track and support achievement of Global Food QA assessment KPIs and contribute to governance reporting.
• Develop, calibrate and train the Global QA assessor community through workshops and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Maintain and improve assessment methodologies, standards, checklists and other QA tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Global Quality Management System and assessment governance framework.
• Support Ultra Fresh Operations with training materials, operational guidance and best‑practice communication.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects related to food safety, quality assurance and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of HACCP and GQA standards.
• Extensive experience in food quality and safety assessments within a multinational environment.
• Ability to travel internationally and work on‑site and remotely.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Proactive mindset for continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.
