Head of HR – Lead People Strategy in Germany

About the role

As Head of HR for PLAION Partners Germany, you will own the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to development and off‑boarding—while providing strategic people leadership and day‑to‑day HR operations in a hybrid Munich/Planegg office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Germany HR function, translating business priorities into practical HR plans and ensuring accurate KPI reporting.
• Oversee payroll coordination, benefits administration, and continuous improvement of HR processes through digital tools.
• Advise Managing Directors and team leaders on German employment law, employee relations, and people‑management best practices.
• Manage recruitment for the Munich office, including talent pool development, relocation support, and a consistent onboarding experience.
• Support performance management, people‑development programmes, and the PLAION Academy to build local capability.
• Partner on employee engagement, culture initiatives, health‑and‑safety programmes, and employer‑branding activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in both operational and strategic HR, including leading an HR team or function.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law and local HR practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Confident advisor to senior leaders, handling sensitive matters with discretion.
• Collaborative style with the ability to build trust across countries and cultures.
