HR Generalist – Germany

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our operations in Germany. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers, ensuring compliance with German labour law while fostering a high‑performing people culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on employment legislation, performance management and HR policies.
• Build management capability to handle people topics independently.
• Coach managers through sensitive and complex employee matters.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, contract changes, and off‑boarding.
• Prepare employment contracts, amendments and HR documentation in line with German law.
• Maintain data integrity, confidentiality and compliance with internal standards.
• Keep employee records up‑to‑date in HR systems.
• Liaise with payroll, benefits providers and finance for accurate processing.
• Coordinate with external partners such as occupational health services.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of HR experience in Germany, preferably in a generalist or operational role.
• Strong knowledge of German labour law and HR best practices.
• Experience in an international or matrix organisation is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
• High integrity, ability to handle confidential information and strong interpersonal skills.
• Solution‑oriented, pragmatic approach with solid organisational abilities.
• Collaborative team player with a service‑oriented mindset.
