Internship – Automation & IT (Thesis)

About the role

This internship focuses on automation and information technology within BASF's Global Engineering Services. You will work on industrial communications, hazard detection technologies, and digital transformation projects at the Ludwigshafen site.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of industrial communication and safety solutions.
• Explore innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, PLC programming, and computer vision.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary, cross‑departmental teams to present and discuss results.
• Participate in the evaluation and integration of new digital tools.

Required profile

• Advanced bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field.
• Strong programming abilities (e.g., Python, C/C++, Codesys).
• Very good communication skills in German and English.
• Self‑motivated, able to familiarize with new topics and contribute ideas.
