Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Proxima Fusion is building the production system that will enable commercial stellarator fusion. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will create and own the processes, tooling, and quality systems that turn high‑temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet designs into repeatable, high‑yield production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, qualify and continuously improve manufacturing processes for HTS coil winding, insulation, impregnation and joining.
• Translate magnet designs into repeatable, high‑yield production workflows in close collaboration with design, physics and production teams.
• Own the design, fabrication and maintenance of tooling, fixtures and quality systems required for consistent manufacturing outcomes.
• Lead process development from prototype builds through transition to full‑scale industrial production.
• Drive design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑assembly (DFM/DFA) collaboration, acting as the manufacturing voice in design reviews.
