Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the role

Our client, an innovative technology company in the semiconductor and sensor sector, is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead manufacturing activities across internal teams and external partners in Reutlingen, Germany. The role combines people leadership with operational ownership, focusing on high-volume production, assembly, final test and supplier engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations with external partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Drive performance across quality, delivery, cost and efficiency metrics.
• Manage material planning and manufacturing readiness to meet customer demand.
• Support product ramp-up and high-volume manufacturing activities.
• Oversee assembly and final test operations across manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality and commercial teams.
• Develop and lead a team, fostering a strong operational culture.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing and supplier processes.
• Assist with manufacturing transfer activities and process enhancements.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record managing external manufacturing partners, subcontractors, foundries or OSATs.
• Background in high-volume production and ramp-up projects.
• Previous people-leadership experience.
• Experience with supplier performance metrics and material management.
• Fluent in English and German (minimum C1).
