Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an advanced engineering team focused on high‑precision opto‑mechanical systems for demanding, high‑power applications. You will work from concept through prototype to production, collaborating with experts across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated opto‑mechanical assemblies and systems.
• Perform finite element (FEM) analysis to validate mechanical performance.
• Work with optical fibre mounting, alignment, and related technologies.
• Prototype, test, and iterate experimental hardware.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, robust, and meet tolerance requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing opto‑mechanical products or precision mechanical systems.
• Strong CAD design skills and hands‑on FEM analysis experience.
• Experience with optical fibre mounting, alignment, or related technologies.
• Practical experience in prototyping, testing, and experimental development.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
